This is a simple way to make a custom sign. It takes some time and a steady hand, but it's a simple technique.
I started by printing the words I wanted on the sign on paper. I used some scrap wood and stickers from hobby lobby too.
You can see the diy home concession stand here- http://yellowhouseinthesticks.smugmug.com/Hobbies/DIY-Home-Concession-Stand/
I cut the boards to size and connected them with scrap wood..........
I sanded and painted this with acrylic paint.
I flipped my lettering over and used a pencil to go over the back of the paper over the letters like so.
Taped the lettering into place and started tracing over each letter using a pen. You don't have to press real hard, just enough for the pencil lead to come off on the wood.
This is how it looks after tracing. Then I used paint markers and permanent markers to go over and fill in the letters.
Added some stickers and it's ready to hang. Pretty simple. If you wanted, you could make this look worn and antique by going over some of the letters and other areas with sandpaper.
